How to Play
Move your chessmen according to their unique movement rules. Pawns move forward one square, but take diagonally. Castles slide any number of squares in a linear path. Knights jump in an L-shape, bypassing other pieces. Bishops move at an angle any number of squares. The Monarch combines the moves of a Rook and Bishop. The King moves one square in any direction. Guard your King at all costs to avoid defeat. Capture opponent pieces by landing on their square. Threaten the opponent's King by attacking it directly. Win by placing the opponent's King in checkmate. Engage against the computer or a friend in alternating moves. Plan your moves carefully to outmaneuver your opponent.
